2016 CoHHO study tour

CoHHO Program organizes an study tour for the purpose to learn connectivity of hills, humans and oceans (CoHHO) through field surveys and to have close relationships between students. The destination of this study tour is headwaters area of Kamogawa River, where is familiar to us. You can find many species around river, forests, and you can have experiences of forestry work. Lunch will be served as traditional style of mountainous area.

Get together in front of sports ground in Kyoto University, North
Campus

Depart Kyoto University by a charter bus

9:00

Visit Shimogamo Shrine and Kamogawa river
Lecture by Mr.Yamamoto from Kyoto Civil Engineering Office

10:15

Depart for Kumogahata(headwaters area of Kamogawa River)

11:00
Lunch Preparation(Mochi-tsuki)and lunch time
13:30
Forestry work(cuting down Hinoki trees of 14 years old) and walking around headwaters area, in case of rain, wood working

Leave Kumogahata for Kyoto University
17:00
Arrive at Kyoto University

【Admission Capacity】15(Application will be closed when the number of applicants are filled to the capacity.)

【Application】Please fill out the application form and submit it to CoHHO Support Office.

【Note】The day of study tour, please come with comfortable and casual clothes which you would not mind getting dirty. Sports shoes or trekking boots is suitable for forestry work (not working boots). Additionally, you can’t enroll this study tour without Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research (PAS) and Liability Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research (LSR) coupled with PAS. Please buy it before your application.
